How in the world is it already September!? This whole year seems as if it has flown by. One of the things I miss the most about Oklahoma is a longer fall season. We don’t really see much fall weather in Houston until late October, early November. It’s always difficult to dress for that somewhere in the middle kind of day, and in Houston the forecast is rarely spot on because it is such a big city. Layering is the only solution to such unpredictable weather.
Having a good set of basics in your wardrobe is essential to mastering the art of layering. I’m never really done hunting for those fundamental pieces that can carry me from one season to the next, and there are so many that I love right now. My two fall must-haves are leather jackets and quality denim. I have a couple upcoming posts dedicated to these staples, so be on the lookout for those. Until then, shop all the pieces I’m eyeing to help me shift from summer to fall (many of which I’ve already caved on). Sole Society is having a major Labor Day sale right now, and the shoe lover in me is doing my best to resist adding 100 new pairs to my collection. Don’t miss out!
SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE
AND OF COURSE, SHOES
Do you have any special plans for your long Labor Day weekend? We have a close friend’s wedding reception in Louisiana, but then I’m looking forward to a little R&R at home.
