When our girl friend that lives in New York asked a group of us if we all wanted to come visit her this summer for a trip to the Hamptons, the answer was obviously YES. It was such an incredible trip. All of us together again made for a weekend of so much laughter. Throughout college and even more so after college, I’ve realized how important relationships are. Who you decide to surround yourself and share your life with is a huge decision that shapes you into the very person you have (and will) become. I’m so fortunate to have the friends that I do, and I wouldn’t trade a single one of them for the world.
We stayed at the Montauk Yacht Club, overlooking Lake Montauk. The resort was beautiful, every inch of it nautical-themed. The service was impeccable. They brought us bottles of water and little chocolates every day. My favorite night ended around the club’s fire pit making s’mores.
Montauk End of the World
We spent the first day sailing, listening to good tunes, sipping’ rosé and catching up. Montauk is appropriately nicknamed “Montauk End of the World” because its situated at the far end of the South Shore of Long Island. It was an ideal summer escape, and such a fun girls trip. Thank you to our sweet friend Ryann for planning everything. We love you!
where to eat/drink
Navy Beach – The perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks and a gorgeous view of the sunset.
Harvest on Fort Pond – Italian cuisine that incorporates Montauk’s fresh seafood and local produce, served family style. Everything was exceptional.
Bliss – An adorable cafe in the middle of town. Stop in before hitting the beach and get the grilled cheese.
Arbor – My favorite dinner spot from the trip. The atmosphere, the music, the drinks, the food… all of it.
Inlet Seafood – So. Fresh. It’s owned by a cooperative of Montauk fishermen, and the sushi is advertised as having been “swimming just the day before.”
On Sunday we had one final brunch on the oceanfront patio of Tillie’s at the Gurney’s resort, a Hamptons icon. We walked along the beach soaking up every last minute before heading back to the city.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Meanwhile I’ll be sitting at my desk, wishing I was back in the Hamptons…
